The institutes of the Faculty of Computer Science produce internationally recognized research results and support the national information technology industry by means of co-operations and the founding of new companies.
The Faculty of Computer Science can boast of world-class researchers in the areas of computer graphics and digital image processing, computer security and e-government, computer networks, multimedia, databases, knowledge management, machine learning, neural networks, special algorithms, and in software development. The Faculty is expanding in several areas, for example, in virtual reality, knowledge management, computer security and e-health.
The Faculty’s importance does not only show itself in the large number of graduates and top positions that graduates have reached, but also in the fact that graduates and employees have founded more than 30 companies related to computer science in Styria alone, which all together employ a total of more than 1000 employees.
