GENERAL

We invite you cordially to submit a paper for one of the following topics (see CFP as download in sidebar):

  • 1) New challenges for the European energy economy
    • How relevant is the security of energy supply for the European society and how can it be secured for the future?
    • What are the strategies and tools to come up against the climate change in an efficient manner? Which are the global, Europe-wide and national possibilities?
    • What consequences has the exit from nuclear energy in Germany and Switzerland?
  • 2) European energy economy
    • In which direction should the regulative framework be developed?
    • How may the energy and environmental policy requirements be harmonized?
    • What are the general conditions for investments (e.g. transmission lines, power plants)?
    • Design of an optimal framework for Renewable Energy Sources (RES) and CHP?
  • 3) Development of the European energy generation
    • Which chances and potentials do renewable energy sources (hydropower, wind, biomass, solar energy) and cogeneration of heat and power have in Europe?
    • In which direction should the European power plant park be developed?
    • Which role do the conventional energy sources in the future power plant park play?
    • What ist he state of the art of innovative technologies like micro-turbines, fuel cells, carbon capture and storage and how will a successful market entry be managed?
  • 4) Transportation and distribution of energy
    • How should congestions in the transmission system be handled in the future?
    • The energy transportation system has to be flexible. How may this required flexibility be achieved?
    • How can the technical reliability of the electrical grid system be assured?
    • What is the role of new technologies like e.g. super grids, smart grids, smart meters?
  • 5) Possibilities and challenges on the demand side
    • What are the possibilities to increase the efficiency of the energy system and how may those be realized?
    • Where there are potentials for energy saving (e.g. buildings, traffic sector) and how may those be realized?
    • Which role plays demand-side management in the future and which technologies are necessary?
    • Which future scenarios for e-mobility ar being discussed?
