PRE-REGISTRATION

Persons, who have NEVER been admitted to studies at Graz University of Technology and would like to begin a study programme at Graz University of Technology, have to PRE-REGISTER via the internet from 25. June 2013.

If you want to begin a bachelor’s study programme or teacher training programme at Graz University of Technology, then you have to come to the Registration Office in person before the general admission deadline (08 July to 5 September 2013) and show your original documents or a certified copy of your documents (school leaving certificate with entitlement to study at a university and passport or certificate of citizenship together with a photo ID) for admission.

For all other study programmes (master’s programmes, doctoral programmes), admission can also be carried out by the later deadline (6 September to 30 November 2013).

Student applicants, who are not Austrian citizens and/or do not have an Austrian secondary school leaving certificate, have to present the Rector’s decision on admission (ensuring the student of a study place) in addition to the other documents.

What are the advantages of PRE-REGISTRATION?

By PRE-REGISTERING via the internet you give the university all your information and save yourself the trouble of filling in the application forms by hand. In addition, you will be informed of which documents you have to present at the Registration Office.

What do you have to keep in mind during PRE-REGISTRATION?

Please write down your identification number and your password, which you can use to change your information at any time! Furthermore, you need your identification number and your password to enter your picture at the photo terminal.

1.) Registration number:

If you already are or were registered at another Austrian university, then you have already received a (seven-digit) registration number. This registration number is to be entered in the field. Otherwise, please leave the “registration number” field blank!

2.) Field of studies:

You choose the field(s) of studies that you want. If you do not find the study programme that you want or if you want to be admitted to Graz University of Technology as a concurrently registered student, please leave the “fields of studies“ field blank!

3.) Your personal details have to be given in full:

Last name
First name(s)
Academic degrees, if applicable
Date of birth
National insurance number
Sex
Citizenship

The following also have to be entered

the type of school (secondary school, secondary technical and vocational school etc.) at which the secondary school leaving examination was completed,
the date of completion of the secondary school leaving examination or university entrance qualification examination,
the home address and
the current address (at the place of study).

4.) Statistical survey:

If you have never been admitted to studies at an Austrian university, a survey form (Ustat1U) is to be filled in online for STATISTICS AUSTRIA in the course of your first-time admission.

The PRE-REGISTRATION for admission to studies is now complete and your information is saved. You can make changes to the information that you have entered at a later date with your identification number and password, so long as you have not already officially chosen a study programme at the Studies and Examination department (Registration Office).

Please do not be afraid to enter your study programme of choice and your personal details electronically. You can correct mistakes immediately or at a later date by pushing the “back“ button.

After you have PRE-REGISTERED online for studies and have taken a picture at the photo terminal, you have to present a number of documents at the Registration Office during its office hours.
